I am so excited to share this editorial with you today!! We shot this at Tribeca Rooftop on a very cold January day, and Genevieve (model) was such a trooper since she was the only one who had to go bare shouldered on that very windy roof. The rest of us are huddling out of camera range in our huge winter coats and hats!
Given our high-class setting and details I wanted a clean and classic look for our bride. Genevieve has these wonderful lips so I chose to use them as the point of focus on her face. We went minimal on the eyeshadow, a clean winged-eyeliner and the must have for every bride: false lashes! I used M.A.C. Cosmetics' Pro-Longwear lipgloss in Primrose (an amazing color with 18-hour staying power!!) -- and it went perfectly with those gorgeous Prada shoes!
From Giulia and Christine…(the designers of our lovely shoot)
Modern Table Scape: Our vision was a modern single table design. We found inspiration within a city skyline and what better skyline than New York City, partnering with Tribeca Rooftop in the ‘quiet neighborhood’ of Tribeca. Their rooftop has stunning city skylines of New Jersey, the Hudson River and Wall Street. A collection of modern dining furniture provided the perfect table ensemble for this art deco-inspired throw back table setting. We paired clear ‘Casper’ chairs with a black pedestal mirror top table. Signature ‘Donatella’ wingback chairs, piped in black, were used at the table ends.
The Flowers: The stacked mirrored vessel provided ample real estate for the ombre-wash purple, fuchsia, and ivory flower centerpiece. Clematis and crystal chrysanthemums stared center stage in amethyst, lavender and blush. Amnesia, cool water rose, three shades of carnations, hydrangea, magenta ‘poppy’ anemone, and eggplant calla lilies-A symbol of purity and sincerity arranged tight and lush.
The Models and Attire: Our model, Genevieve wore three dresses. The La Sposa gown, embellished with a feather sweet heart bodice and beaded applique waist, is from Epiphany-A Divine Bridal Boutique. The ruched organza bodice and tulle layered mermaid-fit bridal gown is super comfortable. Dallas Williams of MakeUp & Hair by Dallas made up our bride to perfection.
We were so thrilled to have on our team, Joey, our peppy puppy, who wore a smart collar bow of Midori ribbon from their Ascot ivory/black collection.
The Jewelry and Shoes: The earrings are platinum drop, stacked clusters, each with one brilliant cut diamond. Hand-crafted design allows for graceful, articulated movement. Approximately 10 carats of diamonds in total, the ring, made of platinum and diamond “halo” exemplifies “modern meets classic styling.” The shoes are stunning with crystal-encrusted heels. The suede and silver metallic leather sandal strap design make a modern statement.
The Paper Invitations: We used Mr. Boddington’s Studio for the invitation and menu. Miss. Davies in letterpress, is paired with beautifully striped envelope liners. We added a menu card in black with white font. Minted craft boxes were wrapped in New York Times newsprint and tied with purple silk ribbon and ‘cheers’ flag to encourage a playful occasion.
Dessert and Appetizers: Bisousciao created beautiful macaroons with our ombre-wash color palette in mind. Michi’s created the most beautiful sushi appetizers to adorn the mirror block trays accented with single flower blossoms in lavender.
Brides like to experience the after party with their guests and often change into ‘evening attire.’ This gold sequin cocktail gown designed by Alberto Makali reflects the city skyline in the dress straps.
The Cocktail Lounge: We showcased Giulia’s family sparkling wine, Vignalta, made in Italy. The bench with metal legs complimented the mirrored coffee table and tufted white leather chairs. Silver sequin linen adds sparkle to the perfect ’after party’ setting.
The Car: Maserati provided their car and driver. Its polished Maserati GranTurismo 4.2 Liter DOHC 32-Valve VVT V8 Engine 6 Speed ZF Automatic Transmission rides smoothly through the city cobblestone streets and along the Hudson River. The gown from L’Fay Bridal Boutique off 5th Avenue in NYC is made of silk and patterned with beaded diamond shapes. No other dress would do for a ride downtown or a celebration atop Tribeca Rooftop.
